Amy Berg is a Career, Leadership, and Team Development Coach with 20 years of experience in Human Resources. She is well known for her loud and infectious laugh, ability to talk “real talk” with authenticity, and offering creative solutions to her clients.
Amy’s career started in the outdoor industry, focusing on individual development and team building through experiential activities such as ropes courses, zip lines, and climbing walls. Her passion for this work led her to transition to the corporate world at Stryker (medical devices) as a Talent Recruiter and Human Resources Business Partner. She led the hiring team in technical and executive hires, including a focus on talent with diverse backgrounds. While at Stryker, she was asked to help build a new Learning & Development department and lead Employee Engagement efforts to a massive success. Stryker received its first award as a Great Place to Work through her efforts.
In 2011, Adidas called and asked Amy to join their Talent Management & Learning team in Portland, Oregon (US). She was quickly introduced to the world of Retail, E-Commerce, and Distribution Centers as part of a large global organization. While at Adidas, Amy led globally dispersed teams, working in multiple time zones, and spent two years living and working in Germany. During her adventures in Germany, Amy had the opportunity to dig into her wanderlust as she traveled and worked from many locations including South Africa, Japan, Hong Kong, and Southeast Asia. These experiences helped her develop a passion for remote work and driving strong team cultures, even when the teams were globally dispersed.
Next up for her was the move to Tech, where she worked at Facebook, Rubrik, and Poly. This introduced her to learning more about software engineers, UI/UX, and scaling businesses quickly through rapid growth. Her last role at Poly included a massive merger of two cultures and the turnover of CEO’s while managing the company through the pandemic.
Amy’s services can be tailored to any individual’s need. She offers individual career coaching and education through resume reviews, interview practice, or simply identifying potential career opportunities which best align to your strengths. She has extensive background in helping people who are new to being people managers in making the transition from individual contributor to a manager of teams. She also has a passion for helping teams to operate at their best, together. And, to demonstrate her experience of remote working, Amy is currently traveling the United States in her Airstream travel trailer to prove that people can be just as productive and happy on the road.
